As OH had bought himself two pairs of Chino's (one stone, one cobalt blue) some months back and all the cool dudes seem to be wearing them whether they are two or sixty-two, I was on a mission, but I didn't take into account just how difficult buying a pair in an age 12 would be!
First I tried online, everywhere. Nada. Lots about, not in Charlie's size.
Shopping trip to Maidstone. Trip to Primark with friend who was buying same for her son. £7 shit quality, awful Tobacco colour. Walked out. Yuk.
Next kids department. Two pairs, classic cut rather than the slim leg I was after, as these are far more trendy and Chazzie is not at the 62 end of the Chino wearing spectrum. Also they looked huge and I don't ever buy anything for him in Next so I didn't know how the sizing would come up, but the rise must have been 15 inches I swear, and I do not want to turn my boy into a mini Simon Cowell. Colours were fab, a sort of turquoise and a cobalt blue, but I walked out.
I checked ebay and could not believe the price second hand chino's are fetching, I just won't pay it, are mothers bloody nuts or is it just that they are having the same problems as me with their Millenium born boys?
With high hopes that we will actually get some sun this summer, I did find some chino shorts online at House of Fraser by Tommy Hilfiger. I loved the colour of them and they will look cute with check shirts or polo shirts.
Hackett Shorts was £40 now £28 at House of Fraser. Also available in Stone.
So if anybody see's any full length Chino's in blue or stone in an age 12, with a slim fit but without a grandad rise, grab them for me for goodness sake!
