Reflecting on Holy Week (Music Mondays)

No Idle Bread

It is Holy Week, which began yesterday with a celebration of Palm Sunday at church. We read about Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem and how the crowds cried out, "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD! Hosanna in the highest!" (Matthew 21:9)

As Jesus received their praises, I wonder if He thought of what was to come by the end of the week. When I think back to all those years ago, to a Humble Servant's last week before a cruel and ugly death on a cross, I stand in awe. In awe of a Savior who knew the cost of redemption, and was very much willing to pay the price. He knew that one day, there would be a little girl named Stacie that would need His saving love. He knew that you, Dear Reader, one day would need his saving love. So, He said, "Yes" to the will of the Father and to a horrid death on the cross. I am completely humbled, filled with sorrow and thanksgiving at the same time.

May we take this week to reflect on the precious love of Jesus, reflect on His great sacrifice for all man-kind. May we know and accept the love that He has for us. There is none greater.

There is no greater love

No greater love

Than the one You have for me Lord

Your mercy so tender

Erasing my transgressions

There is none greater

There is none greater

Your love for me is forever, Your love for me is forever

To me there is none greater, to me there is none greater

No greater, no greater, no greater, no greater. . .
