Rooney hopes to return in late September


The England international who left Old Trafford on a stretcher in the second game of his team in the Premiership this season, against Fulham, was unable to join the call this week the England coach, Roy Hodgson, to face Moldova tonight, and Ukraine, on Tuesday, in qualifiers for Brazil 2014. "The injury is fine. Could have been worse than it is. When the doctor says I'm ready, again, depends on it," said the striker, who doctors recommended United be four weeks without competing. "What we do not want to get back too soon and that the wound is opened in the first game you play. Overall, I think the most that I can lose four games are over," said the agency Rooney 'PA'. If the schedule is met by the very front, the English could reappear on September 29, in the league clash against Tottenham at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, Alex Ferguson will have newcomer Robin Van Persie in attack for another two league games against Wigan and Liverpool, one of the League Cup, against Newcastle, and mourning League Champions League against Galatasaray, Sept. 19.
