Nadal would return to play in a month, according to his doctor

Rafa Nadal would return to the tennis court in about a month after intense physiotherapy and laser in his problematic knee, said Wednesday the doctor of the Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) Angel Ruiz-Cotorro. The world number three has not played after his defeat against Czech Lukas Rosol in the second round of Wimbledon in June and has been convalescing from a partially torn patellar tendon in his left knee and swelling in the joint. Former world number 26, who was unable to defend his Olympic title in London and had to give up going to the U.S. Open, said Monday he would be out for another two months. "We have ruled out surgery entirely," said Ruiz-Cotorro in a press conference in Barcelona. "Over the next month we will do a lot of training with physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and laser combined with, and we'll see how it evolves," he added. "We believe that within two months the tendon will be within what we consider normal." "In a period of one month, if the tests are positive developments and can return to work on the track" "But it is not the priority, but the tendon to regain his strength forever." Ruiz-Cotorro said Nadal's injury would not necessarily why harass the rest of his career and knew similar cases in which the tendon had been completely cured. "No need to drag over this injury," he said. "You want to play when you can do it in good condition and not just in a tournament, but with continuity." "When you say you can not play as important competitions are never happy, but is now eager to recover and get back soon."
