Djokovic-Ferrer postponed to Sunday! Djokovic saves the storm

While David Ferrer led 5/2 in the first set against Novak Djokovic in the semifinals of the U.S. Open, the match was interrupted and postponed to Sunday due to a storm warning! pushing the final passage Monday. Expect heavy rains accompanied by winds and tornadoes possibilities for the entire New York metropolitan area during the afternoon and evening. The suspension of the game came when Ferrer had a 5-2 lead on the scoreboard and pulled out to set, after having broken the Djokovic serve in the first and fifth games. Tournament director, David Brewer, confirmed that the thirteenth day of the last Grand Slam tournament of the year was suspended completely and the match between Djokovic and Ferrer will resume this Sunday at 11 am local time. Brewer also confirmed that the men's final would be played for the second consecutive year on Monday, including Andy Murray, seeded third, which in previous game won 5-7, 6-3, 6-1, 7-6 (9 - 7) Czech Tomas Berdych, seeded sixth, and the winner of the match between Djokovic and Ferrer. The women's final was scheduled to be played in the evening on Saturday between Victoria Azarenka, the first favorite, and Serena Williams will be played on Sunday, after the conclusion of the match between Djokovic and Ferrer. Also scheduled for Sunday's game women's doubles final they will play the couple formed by the Italian Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci, second favorite, with the Czechs Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka, seeded third.
