ACCORDING TO THE CASTROL RANKINGS Messi, the best performing player in Europe


The FC Barcelona player Leo Messi keeps his lead in the ranking of best performing players from Europe, the popular Castrol Ranking Edge, bringing together footballers playing in the top European leagues. The Rosario accumulates 1195 points in the period between September 2011 and August this year, ahead of Bayern Munich player Mario Gomez (988) and fellow striker Robin van Persie, now at Manchester United, totaling 971. Messi is one of the twelve players in the first team listed among the 100 best in Europe. Puyol, Pique, Alves, Iniesta, Mascherano, Xavi, Cesc, Adriano, Busquets and Thiago complete the list of Barca players with better performance during the twelve months covered in the ranking. The second most represented team is Real Madrid, with nine troops. Among Whites, highlights Higuain, who has climbed to fourth place. The Pipit supersedes that square into Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, who has fallen to seventh, behind Arjen Robben and his partner Karim Benzema. The Castrol Edge Ranking evaluates more than 2,000 players participating in the five most powerful European leagues: the First Divisiójn Spanish, English Premier League, German Bundesliga, French Ligue One Serie A. The score is derived from the actions that players perform in matches not only their own leagues, but also contesting all competitions during the time period of each classification, with a different scale depending on the importance of the tournament.
