Van Persie, A 'complication' for Ferguson

Manchester United confirmed today that it completed the signing of Dutch striker Robin van Persie, from Arsenal. The 29-year-old signed a four year term and may already debut against Everton on Monday on the first day of the Premier League. "Robin is a world class striker with a proven value in England and in European football," said United manager, Alex Ferguson ."No need to explain to fans what their qualities and talents. Has scored against us a number of goals in some battles with his former club," he said. "Their movements, their completion and capacity in all plots are extraordinary," praised the striker, who initially formed strike partnership with Wayne Rooney and make things difficult for the Mexican Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez. Ferguson revealed that the Dutch international was desperate to sign for United, who preferred ahead of other European clubs. "The boy wanted to come. Rejected several clubs. If Arsenal had told him he wanted to come to Manchester United, the operation would not have done," he said. With Van Persie, Rooney , Danny Welbeck and "Chicharito" Ferguson has an attack reminiscent of the 1998-99 season, when brought together Andy Cole , Dwight Yorke , Teddy Sheringhamand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United won the treble. "I added a complication to my life. Do not know how I managed in 1999," said Ferguson. "You can understand. Robin The best position is the most advanced. Most important is that we win what we want to win. These players can help us do that." Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger , Arsenal manager admitted that he had no choice but to sell to Van Persie, who had one year left on a contract that did not want to prolong. Next season would have gone free. "The reality is that when a player does not want to have two options: to continue or force him to accept reality and let go. I chose the second," he said. "I know it's a challenge and a huge gamble, but we have the quality to meet it. As much as we can only talk show on the court", said French. "Time heals everything and of course now people are hurt, but we must focus on what's coming. Many players are gone, life goes on and the club has 125 years of history," so he asked to look ahead .
