TENNIS | Cincinnati Final Federer, more number one

Shortly after losing the gold medal against Andy Murray, Roger Federer strengthens its position as world number one thanks to a win over Novak Djokovic 6-0, 7-6 (7) in the final of Cincinnati, just 80 minutes. Federer achieved his fifth title in Ohio and his twenty-first Masters 1000, which equals the record of Rafael Nadal. After a first set surprisingly short (20 minutes) something unusual in the 27 previous meetings between the two, Federer was more demanded in the second set. One of the arguments of the victory was the service. He won his first 82% of the points, which gave him a remarkable safety profile to show more offensive, with frequent net approaches. Cincinnati Exits without losing his serve once, something that had been his opponent until he saw it broken in the first game of the match. "It was better on the track.'ve Done many double faults. I had my chances in the second set," admitted Djokovic, who won last week in Toronto. Especially powerful on hard courts, Djokovic had lost just one game in this outdoor area in the last two years, in the semifinals of Miami, in March, against John Isner. "Playing so well here has much to do with viewers. Appreciate good tennis. Thanks for making me play well," said the seven-time Wimbledon winner of 17 Grand Slam titles, who at 31 years goes back for a moment extraordinary. Federer had 28 winners, by 12 'Nole'. Fast and full of determination, gave a superb performance at all devalued by the concessions of his opponent in the first set, which were many. Two consecutive victories against Djokovic, who already defeated in the recent Wimbledon semifinals, so that the overall balance between the two is 16-12 in his favor.
