Bayern Munich coach Heynckes hints at resignation

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has hinted the end of his tenure at Bayern Munich this season. "We have a two-year contract, which ends on 30 June 2013. And then another phase of life is over," the 67-year-old said in an interview the "Sueddeutsche Zeitung" published on Saturday. When asked whether Heynckes will devote from July 2013 back to his hobby of growing roses, he replied: "Yes, and that's realistic." Last Heynckes had always kept open if he wanted to extend his contract again. "The club has once said that in December, in January, in the spring will be composed. But I'm not 37," the coach said then. He would like to finish his career with a title. In the last season, Bayern were in the Bundesliga, DFB Cup and the Champions League, only one finished second. Heynckes in the summer of 2011 had begun his third term at Bayern. Even in the summer about a premature departure of coach-Oldies has been speculation - after losing the Champions League final against Chelsea had Heynckes evasively commented on his future and struck explains: "With every day it gets worse I will. becoming more aware of what we have left are for a huge opportunity. " Bayern president Uli Hoeness bosses to let sound through the past few months several times to look for the coming season for a new man on the sideline. As an ideal candidate is the Spaniard Josep Guardiola, who after his resignation at FC Barcelona is currently Unemployed. "If Jupp Heynckes should end 2013, one can only recommend Pep Guardiola," the former Munich coach Ottmar Hitzfeld had stressed in the summer. The 41-year-old Spaniard himself has not decided on his future.
